About Smovword
Humble Beginnings
Marc Worthy grew up and resides in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. His love of writing began at a very young age while taking a journalism course in high school. His first poem, entitled "When I Considered How My Life Has Spent," was well received. From then on, his English teacher at East Forsyth in Kernesville, North Carolina, encouraged Marc to continue developing his writing skills. This support helped inspire him to be the writer he is today.
Marc has been featured in many local television events and has performed his poetry extensively. He also had a featured article in the Winston-Salem Journal and has two featured poems on the Literary Café website: "Blackman" and "Life of Sin." Marc is a people person; when you meet him, you can feel his spirit before he even speaks, and when he does, you'll be amazed. He found a voice through poetry to express himself and motivate young people.
Marc dedicates much of his time mentoring youth through various activities at the local gym, where he spent a lot of his time as a young man. As a Christian, Marc believes within God's word lies the answer to all of life's problems. He believes knowledge is power and strives to be a role model for the youth. Marc feels that if he could win one soul to Christ, he has done something great. Proverbs 11:30 says, "He who wins souls is wise."

For I'm Deeply Rooted
In the word of God first,
He's like my savior in life,
As I thirst,
After peace in His word of wisdom,
Knowledge and understanding,
It takes me high up in the clouds,
And then brings me down,
